The Voice by Jennifer Anne Davis

Summary:
During her abduction and assault, Audrey begins to hear a voice. She hopes she’s not going crazy, because after what she’s experienced, that’s the most logical explanation. However, as she begins to listen to the voice, Audrey realizes that someone may be telepathically trying to help her.
Unfortunately, rescue isn’t all she needs. In order to leave behind theconstant reminders, she flees to her Aunt Kate’s house in San Diego, and assumes a new identity. It works—until the eighteen-year-old twin boys who live next door threaten to break through the protective walls she’s worked so hard to build.
Between Caleb going out of his way to befriend her and Justin avoiding her at all costs, Audrey doesn’t know if normalcy will ever find her again. But one thing is certain: When a familiar danger resurfaces, it’s the same voice that she turns to—a voice that is not only real, but a lot closer than she realizes.
Gripping and tastefully told, The Voice is a story of healing, trust, and courage.

Freezing in NC

Hey All,
Well what can I say... I know it is winter... But really I live in North Carolina I don't live in Wisconsin anymore for a reason... I HATE COLD WEATHER... Yep I love the thought of snow... I like sledding with my boys at a reasonable temperature... I do not like when it is below 30 degrees... That equals freezing in my mind... Maybe I got used to being warm and not having cold winters from living in the South for the last 10 years. It is colder than a Witches Tit outside and it is sleeting/raining... Here i am bitching about it being cold but we had a pipe bust last Saturday night got it temp fixed on Sunday and totally fixed on Wednesday... I do not need anymore pipes busting or cold..

Maybe it is because i am a cold person by nature cold hands, cold feet, warm heart lol but here I am wrapped in a mink blanket avoiding homework trying to stay warm... I really want to play Skylanders with my boys but that would involve going into the cold part of the house lol and i really need to do homework and finish making three knotted pearl necklaces and a eyeglass holder necklace... So i am going to stop stalling and get my homework done and the knot me some necklaces.

On another point I didn't fail my last class like i thought i was going to I passed with a 78 woo hooo... It was a seriously hard class and a couple of the people in my class were on their second time taking it... Gotta love being your last year of Bachelors college... Almost there.

Night All.

Review of Master at Arms & Nobody's Angel By Kallypso Masters

Master at Arms by Kallypso Masters

Introduction to the Rescue Me Series(Must Read First)

Masters at Arms is an introduction to the Rescue Me series, which needs to be read first. The book begins the journey of three men, each on a quest for honor, acceptance, and to ease his unspoken pain. Their paths cross at one of the darkest points in their lives. As they try to come to terms with the aftermath of Iraq--forging an unbreakable bond--they band together to start their own BDSM club. But will they ever truly become masters of their own fates? Or would fate become masters of them? (Book One in the Rescue Me series.)

NOTE FROM AUTHOR: This is an introduction to the erotic-romance series RESCUE ME. The Happily Ever After endings and much hotter scenes come in the following Romance novels. The characters can't be contained to a single book, so you need to read the books in order to follow the men in their romances. (The author doesn't rehash what has come before in the series and the books are not stand-alone novels. The characters continue to work on their relationships even after their happy endings, so you'll get to see them again in more than cameo appearances.)

CONTENT WARNING: There are some intense themes in this book, including surviving the death of a spouse, dealing with the horrors of incest and being tortured as a sex slave, and dealing with the aftermath of war (including a wounded warrior with PTSD and an amputation injury). These are the sometimes ugly details of their pasts but are told in real time to help readers appreciate how far the characters have come as the series progresses

My Review

I have to say this book is just the start for the series... I am so glad i read this first as it shows how these three men got to be friends in the first place and how there BDSM club started.  It It not only gives us backstory in to the reluctant Hero's in the series but flows in a way that leaves us wanting to know more but tells us a little bit about some of the female roles that will be in the following books... This book shows the reality of heartbreak and the hard truth that survivors  deal with when blaming ones self in order to start to heal.

I hate spoiling books so all I can stay is read it you will love it and be wanting to know more.

Nobody's Angel By Kallypso Masters
Book 2

Marc d'Alessio might own a BDSM club with his fellow military veterans, Adam and Damián, but he keeps all women at a distance. When Marc rescues Angelina Giardano from a disastrous first BDSM experience at the club, however, an uncharacteristic attraction leaves him torn between his safe, but lonely world, and a possible future with his angel.

Angelina leaves BDSM behind only to have her dreams plagued by the masked Italian angel who rescued her at the one and only BDSM club she ever went to. When she meets Marc at a bar in her hometown, she can't shake the feeling she knows him—but has no idea why he reminds her of her angel.

Marc's search-and-rescue partner, widower Luke Denton, confides he believes Angelina is the angel his wife promised to send him, convincing Marc she is meant for Luke. A painful incident from his past keeps Marc from letting any woman drive a wedge between him and a friend.

When the abusive Dom from Angelina's past threatens, Marc's protective instincts kick in; he must keep her safe. Again at the Masters at Arms Club, she turns the tables on Marc—and turns his safe, controlled world upside down.

This is Book Two in the RESCUE ME series and should be read after the free introduction to series, MASTERS AT ARMS.

My Review

Nobody's Angel starts off with a bang... Marc d'Alessio saves Angelina Giardano from a horrible and abusive boyfriend during her first BDSM experiance in his club... He is dealing with memories of his past and a distrust for "Italian" women.

Angelina is a chef and after being brutilized by her boyfriend in a BDSM club she has sworn off men... On her first night back out on the town she gets the help of Marc and Luke in the form of a buffer between her and her ex. She doesn't remember Marc but feels the connection they have.

Luke swears Angelina is the Angel his dead wife told him she was sending him in a dream... But when he finds out who Angelina is he is more than sure his dead wife is wrong.

Enter Abusive Ex who can't let Angel go plus a bunch of Doms doing everything to protect her even against her wishes and you get a great story with tons of spicy sex, action, soul searching, and touches of Adam and Karla's story which leads into the next book.

It is so hard for me not to spoil this book or the series...All i can say is read it.. You will be wanting more Heros, Doms an sex scenes so hot that you will debate saying your safe word.

I rate this 5 out of 5

Review Beneath the Twin Moons of Haldae by Angela Yseult

Beneath the Twin Moons of Haldae By: Angela Yseult

A Young Adult Sci-Fi Shifter Romance.

Trainee observer Zaren was never supposed to set foot on the fifth planet of system 59, let alone have contact with the indigenous population. In fact, any contact is grounds for her immediate dismissal from the program. Zaren has dreamed of being an observer for as long as she can remember, and she knows the rules well. But when her observation vehicle crashes, she finds herself in dire need of help.

Kris has been sent by the Elders of his village on a solo journey into the woods. He needs to choose a single animal to shape-shift into. Only then will he be recognized as a man by his people. Only then will he be allowed to return to care for the last member of his family, his gravely ill sister, Elea.

When Kris finds Zaren fighting for her life, he doesn’t hesitate for a second to save her, even though she’s a stranger, even though he can’t understand her – and even though he risks exile if she discovers he is a shifter.

As they trek through the woods in search of Zaren’s lost shuttle, they learn more than they ought to about each other, and also about themselves. But they will both have to return to their own kind eventually… How will they explain themselves to their people without losing everything? More importantly, what will they do when they have to say goodbye?

(40.000 words)

My Review

The Characters in this book are young and just stepping out in the world.

Zaren was to observe but not step foot on the planet her observation vehicle crashes on. She is saved by Kris who is hiding a secreat he is forbidden to be let known... They must trust each other in order to get Zaren home problem is will she want to leave and how can the protect themselves from the secrets they are trying to keep to save each other. How safe will half-truths and lies keep them from those they answer to?

Angela Yseult writes a very fast paced book which follows the accounts of  both Zaren and Kris. Written in two points of view (both Zaren & Kris's) and goes back and forth between the present and the past in a way that is fulling and not at all confusing and very easy to follow. Over all this is a great young adult book with enough going on to keep you reading more.

Review Relentless Protector by Colleen Thompson

Relentless Protector By: Colleen Thompson

Former army ranger Cole Sawyer reacts on instinct when he sees beautiful young widow Lisa Meador pull a gun at the bank. He foils the robbery, but when Lisa screams as the real robbers take off with her son, he realizes that things aren't what they seem. Driven by a painful secret, Cole makes the split-second decision to join forces with Lisa and trail the criminals across Texas.

Haunted by his failure to save Lisa's husband in Afghanistan, Cole is determined to help her rescue her son. But he's even more determined not to give in to his growing attraction to her. As they untangle clues and face the potentially devastating loss of their quarry, they soon realize that the kidnappers' motives run deeper—and darker—than they ever expected.…

My Review

This story starts out with revenge written all over it... but is written in such a way that it leaves you constantly guessing what is going to happen next.

Lisa Meador is the widow of a fallen solider with a little boy named Tyler. She is a determined heroine who is strong in the face of heartbreak and willing to do anything to save her son from a kidnapper even rob a bank.

Cole Sawyer is a former army ranger who is  dealing with his own "failures" and blames himself for the death of Lisa's husband. He tries  to stop a bank robbery and is doing everything in his power to right wrongs and save Lisa's Son.

A Kidnapper from the past who Lisa can't remember that leaves the reader wondering who exactly is Evie LeStrange???

Throw in a couple of local cops, one that can't follow directions and follows her "own" rules.

And you get a fast-paced, suspenseful, thriller written by Colleen Thompson that is a quick read that leaves you guessing until the last chapter.

* I won this book in exchange for a fair review.

Review Below the Belt by Skye Warren

Below the Belt By: Skye Warren

Black belt Abe Montgomery is focused on winning gold. But at nationals, Abe meets Paris, a beautiful, mysterious woman. Paris Rivera has sworn off men and martial arts. Her black belt cost her more than years of dedication and sweat. The fight of Abe’s life looms ahead, with his dreams of owning a school and his future with Paris hanging in the balance. He may dominate on the mats, but he’s fallen hard for her. When the time comes for them to part, he may not be able to let go.

BELOW THE BELT is a 30,000 word novella of erotic romance featuring explicit sex and graphic language. Not for those under 18 years of age or those uncomfortable with the subject matter.

My Review

It all started with a bet... Classic Guy bet... who would get some that night and what the punishment would be for losing...

Abe Montgomery is the "hero" in this story didn't want to take the bet and instead of taking the easy route with the groupies he singles out Paris Rivera... As in Paris, Texas (my favorite line) who has sworn off guys and martial arts... She is there to help her sister.

Paris a tough cookie who decided to take a chance on Abe agrees to go off with him...she has sex with him in a closed off ball room when they are interrupted by Abe's "friends" where she finds out about the bet and runs off.

Abe turns out to be not as big an ass as Paris thinks and they hit it off as "friends. I really don't want to ruin the story as it is a quick read... So My final thoughts...

This is a great short which reads so well and has that happy ending we all like with bits of steamy sex, great back story, and interesting characters, great ending which has you wanting more... Looking forward to reading more from Skye Warren.

I was gifted this book by the author in exchange I gave a fair review.

Review Stiletto Inc by Lexi Ryan

Stiletto Inc By: Lexi Ryan

EXCERPT:

He projected arousal, swamped her with it, and she didn’t say another word. He was damn near depleted after tonight, but somehow he always had a little more to give when Paige was involved. Not that it mattered. The second he touched her, his power would come back. Not in sips, as it always had when he’d kissed other women, but in gulps. The sexual energy was just too intense between them
Five feet from Collin’s table, he pressed Paige against the wall and clamped his mouth over hers. He pumped all his mental energy into making her hot, showing her with his mind how she looked when she’d laid herself out on his bed and opened her legs to him. He showed her how she looked, pink and swollen for him, made her feel how much he wanted her—the pulsing ache of his cock on the dance floor, how much he wanted her every time she walked into the room. How much he wanted her now.

The music pumped around them, bodies writhed in every state of dancing and making out. Some couples were discreet, some less so.

He watched her catlike green eyes as he ran a hand up her side, then down, not bothering to be gentle. More interested in having his hands on her. Now. When he ran his hand up again, he slipped it under her shirt, running his fingers over her ribs, grazing the soft, subtle swell of her stomach. Up again, he cupped her breast, then squeezed. Every touch saying, I want you and I’ll take you. Now.

My Review

Stiletto Inc consists of sexy ladies who kick ass and refuse to work for the man... They have their own way of taking car of business.

This story introduces you to the ladies of Stiletto Inc and the men of the Specials Intelligence Agency (SIA) but in truth the  story about Paige Sykes who is an empath and  Darian Lorring (sexy special agent).

Paige is a strong woman who has her own demons to deal with trying to take care of her sister, find out what happened to her mother, questions her sanity, and of course her love life.

Darian is trying to do his job but his questioning thoughts about Paige and his mission kind of make him overbearing and an ass. The perfect hero a girl want to "reform" lol.

There is ups and downs which leave you going what is going on but Lexi Ryan wrote a great book which had me from the start.

So I gotta say i really enjoyed this book... There is action, romance, suspense, sex, questionable movies and there is funny parts. Everything a great book needs.

I rate this 5 out of 5

Review Submission by Alla Ardent

Submission By: Ella Ardent

Welcome to the Plume – where members are bound by desire and fantasies come true…

Lifestyle reporter Joanna is prepared to do whatever is necessary to get the story about the notorious private club known as the Plume - even apply for membership. Rex will do anything to protect his club and the privacy of his membership - and he isn't adverse to teaching Joanna a lesson about curiosity - and control. They both get more than expected when Joanna's own secret desires are revealed.
Adult-content rating: This book contains content considered unsuitable for young readers 17 and under, and which may be offensive to some readers of all ages.

My Review

Submission is the first book in the Plume Series. The Plume is a Private BDSM club that everyone one is talking about and nobody knows about. In this book Joanna,  a straight lace reporter goes undercover to get the story about Plume in order to write article but the club weeds out its clients and knows who she is and goes about making sure she never steps foot in Plume.

One of the Owners Rex is a guy from her high school days who would do anything to protect his club and his clients but also anything to have Joanna.  This book has a little of everything from Blackmail to Ribbon Bondage.

The story is well written and has steamy scenes involving taking Joanna from the vanilla world she thought she lived in and needed to submissive role she craves. It however does leave you wondering what will happen when with Mike …will he tell Joanna he used to work for Plume and was part of the lifestyle… What will happen when Plume’s Owners finds out about Joanna’s story… What will Rex do… What will Joanna do… Oh the complexities of this story and its questions. Good thing Ella Ardent has book 2 Surrender.

Review Battered Not Broken by Ranae Rose

Battered Not Broken By: Ranae Rose

Ryan Moore forged his own path when he defied his wealthy family’s expectations by joining the United States Marine Corps as an enlisted man. After a period of service that’s cut short by an IED explosion, the lingering physical and mental effects of war result in an isolated struggle to exist in the civilian world. He throws himself into competitive MMA fighting – the one thing he’s still able to excel at, even if every match is a risk he can’t afford to take.

His first encounter with amateur female fighter Ally Rivera ignites a spark of desire he hasn’t felt since before a bomb left its marks on his life and his body, but his flirtation with her turns out to be anything but harmless. She’s struggling to hold together a family ravaged by violence – a feat that isn’t easy when her father has been imprisoned, leaving her vulnerable to relatives who run a local gang. Can two unrelenting fighters overcome challenges they couldn’t defeat alone, or do the wounds of war and crime run too deep for even love to heal?

Full-Length Novel. (Approximately 110,000 words.)

Battered Not Broken is an erotic romance - contains explicit sexual content.

My Review

I have to say that I loved this book. Ranae Rose wrote a wonderful story about Ryan a MMA Fighter/Former Marine who was injured in Afganistan and deals with complications from a TBI due to an IED explosion which left him scared and fighting headaches and his courting/relationship with  Ally a female MMA Fighter who he meets at the gym.

There is spicy sex, personal ups and downs and serious notes in this story which bring attention to Ryan's injury and how Ally copes with being pushed away. Ranae writes this story in a way that shows how the injurys you can't see affect not only the Marine as a person but his relationship with others.

This story line is full and brings two people from different walks of life and who are very guarded together. It takes a strong ass-kicking woman to be partnered with the hero in this story and I think that Ally fills that part wonderfully.  As a Marine Wife who's husband suffers from headaches and memory loss due to a TBI an PTSD, I was very impressed with this book, which was a great read and I will be reading more from this wonderful author.
I rate this 5 out of 5

Review- The Embattled Road (Lost and Found Series)

The Embattled Road By J.M. Madden

This is the prequel to the Lost and Found Series- 40 Pages Quick Read

Add caption

In the harrowing prequel to The Lost and Found series, three embattled Marines must deal with their devastating physical and emotional injuries in a world that seems to have turned against them.

When the rescue helicopter crashes into his convoy in Iraq. Marine Frist Sergeant Duncan Wilde struggles with the loss of men, his career and the use of his body. Things cna't get much worse. Until his fiancee decides she has to move on with her life, and that of her unborn child by another man.

Sergeant Chad Lowell knew when he went to war that it would come with a price. And it did. A young Marine under his command is killed by a landmine. Chad's left with one less leg and a mountain of recriminations. That doesn't mean he wants to be pitied by every femal he comes in contact with.

Gunnery Sergeant John Palmer is furious at the hand he's been dealt. He's served his country faithfully, if not without antagonism, for many years. Now they're turning him out like a relative who has overstayed his welcome. And, since he's not even a real man anymore, maybe it is time t0 move on permanently.

Can these wounded warriors use a friendship borne out of adversity to form a partnership rescuing others? And can they find real love in spite of their challenges.

My Review

J.M Madden does us a favor by writing this prequel to her series. There is no romance just honest facts which intoduce us the the readers to Duncan, Chad and Gunny John (That's what I call him in my head) the main characters and Marines of the Lost and Found Series.

I have to say that i love the fact that J.M. Madden kept the Marines in this story, honest to god Marines the swearing, personalities, their concerns and ability to keep promises even when odds are against them. She goes into graphic detail how they got injured with stunning detail which in some cases may make this a hard read fro some... but you have to read it to understand these proud Marines. The friendship that is built between these three men at Walter-Reed is great and it shows how strong their characters actually are and has you rooting for them.

I have to say the Character that was by far my favorite of this book was Gunny John as he is ruff on the outside, has the hardest time adjusting in my opinion and you just want him to open up, which is does slowly. I won't ruin the prequel by explaining everything but i will say for this... Read it because you need to know, understand, and love these men who paid with blood for something they love. It is a great read, fast but filling and J.M. Madden leaves you wanting more by allowing you to read the frist chapter of Gunny John's Story Embattled Hearts book 2 in the Lost and Found Series.

I rate this 5 out of  5
