Home for the Holidays Blog Hop

Hey All,
Welcome to my stop on the Home for the Holiday's Hop. I am excited to share my favorite Holiday Recipe, as when I think of the Holidays I think of food and how my house smells like cinnimon and apples. If you can't tell my Reciepe is going to be Apple Crisp.

I can my own apples (family reciepe) and normally just make the simple crumble top, however if you don't have homemade canned apples that is fine,as this recipe is super easy.

Ingrediants
- 4 to 5 medium sized apples I like using HoneyCrisp or McIntosh (great for pies and canning)
sliced, peeled and Cored (don't want any seeds)
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-pupose flour
- 1/2 cup Quaker Oats (or whatever type of Oats you buy)
- 1/3 cup butter softened
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Grease bottom and sides of 8 inch cooking pan with shortening
-  Place Apples in the pan
- Mix the rest of the ingredants together good
- Sprinkle on top of apples evenly
- Bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and apples are tender.

Serve with vanilla ice cream or put whipped cream on top... Enjoy

Besides this yummy recipe  You can win a paperback of What Happens in Scotland by Jennifer McQuiston and some extra goodies just for commenting on my blog. How Awesome is that???

All you need to do is leave a comment with your email address and a winner will be chosen

Make sure you head back to
So you can continue hopping..

Don't forget that your comment on my page puts you in the drawing not only for my prize but for the grand prize Giveaway (First Prize = $450+ Gift Card) (Second Prize = 1 eBook from each particpating Author)... Each Blog you Visit and Comment at is an EXTRA ENTRY into the DRAWING

Thanks for stopping buy and Enjoy the Hop.

  1. Well, it sure looks good. I love to eat dutch apple crumb pie with ice cream.
I'm very grateful for finding this giveaway because this is the last one I'm going to enter this year. I'm entering in hopes to win so my daughter will have a Christmas. I've been doing this since the beginning of October when my husband's job closed down. I know we can barely pay the bills and now we're having to run heat and that means $350 to $400 light bills every month until winter's over. We are barely paying a $175 dollar light bill.
I've done everything that I can do after I do this giveaway. I know $450 will get both my kids a present. Haley's fifteen and my priority, while Houston is in the Army and makes money. I would definitely get him something if I were to win the grand prize. He's m child to. I love them both and would give them the world if I could.
Thanks for the awesome giveaways and thank you to everyones participation in this giveaway. Good luck to everyone.

    2. I have been in the hospital, I got out today. I'm trying to catch up to where I'm supposed to be at. I don't know how this giveaway works either. All the other giveaways I had entered was run by the rafflecopter, is this one? I hope it's not because that would already put me behind. The doctor said I couldn't be getting myself upset and depressed. I shouldn't be staying awake for days at a time. I think my daughter and mother in law told him I was staying awake doing these giveaways to get my daughter something for Christmas. I got a long lecture. I have diabetes also and he told me that I had to eat and my veins are too small to get IVs in. They went in through my neck to my heart but they weren't able to do that again. This makes the second time that they've had to go through the bone to get insulin to me. The last thing I remember was being on Facebook sending a private message about needing help for Christmas. I'm thankful I wasn't home by myself because they told me they couldn't get me awake, they slapped me in my face hard, I'm going by what I was told but my blood sugar wasn't raising. It was at 15 when they got here and they were loosing me. I'm thankful my daughter wasn't here to see it but she knew that I have been entering giveaways trying to win something for her for Christmas. I got my lecture from my 15 yr old daughter as well. She said mom I don't need anything, but my mom alive and a roof over our heads. Talk about bringing you to tears. She sure can do that. I just wanted to know if this giveaway is going to run a Rafflecoppter. I didn't leave my name last time either. I thimk I need to do that. Thanks so much.

  15. That looks so yummy! And the fact that you are using the canned apples only makes it better. I just tried my hands at canning, for the first time last night but it wasn't apples... it was mullet. It turned out really well and I can't wait to start doing fruits and veggies!

Thanks for sharing, I will be trying this recipe! I have never made an apple pie so we will see how it goes!
