Bike Runs, Bartending, Non-Profits Oh My

Hey All,

So first I want to thank you all for hanging in there with me. I am behind in most of everything in my life right now, that includes mailing stuff out. So Sorry to all I owe packages to I have them at the house and everyone has tons of extras in their packages because I am behind.

I have been very busy with writing my second book, Yes.. I am also an Romance author so that has been taking up most my time. Add in fundraiser season for the Non-Profits I support and am part of (Marine Corps League, VFW and ToysForTots) Hubby, the boys and I are hardly home.

I will have multiple reviews going up within the next few days. As I have a pile of books read that are ready for review.

I have a huge bike run this weekend for Toys For Tots and National VFW Childrens Home... It has been in the works for past few months. Hopefully we raise tons of money and toys for these non-profits which are dear to my heart.

I also want to tell you all that I have an awesome giveaway coming up starting November 1st though Nov 10th... This is to support Veterans Day and The Marine Corps Birthday. I just received some awesome swag and goodies from Sharon Hamilton which will be included in the giveaway. There will be more than one winner. I will be giving away ebooks of the first book in My Heart of Teufel Hundens Series... Blondie's Hero. And tons of other goodies.

Shannon wanted him to move in right away. She got dressed, wore one of Frankie’s big shirts and her drawstring pants and announced she was going to help him move. That day.

            “No hurry on all this, Shannon. I can get it. Not like there’s a ton of stuff.”

            “Al the better to do it now. And besides, I’m big, or haven’t you noticed?” She pulled her shirt up, and damn, every time she showed him her bare tummy with the belly button that had started becoming an “outie” he got hard. He silently cursed himself, but she had such an enormous effect on him, he could hardly be in the same room with her without getting hard.

            T.J. promised he’d get things moved over in the afternoon.

            “No. We. Do. It. Now.”

            “Shannon, honey, my place is—”

            “I know. A bachelor pad. You probably never anticipated having to entertain me there.”

            “I never entertain there period.” Even before Frankie had married Shannon, the two of them had little in the way of furniture, using cardboard boxes for tables they used to clean their weapons while watching TV set above some fruit crates. They hadn’t bothered to buy a couch, chairs, or even a dinette set. But they did have the biggest TV they could afford, and a gas-fired barbeque. Frankie’s room was bare, since T.J. hadn’t had time to get another roommate.

            When they got to the complex, T.J. tried one more time to ask her to stay in the truck while he went inside and got his things. The answer was the same.

            First thing he noticed was the smell, coming from the brown bag left by the front door, since he hadn’t invested in a garbage can. He’d left remnants of a sandwich, a sour half quart of milk and some wrappers that had gotten heated up in the two days since he’d been home. He’d not turned on the AC because he had to pay the electric bill was not part of the lease. He never left it on because he never knew when he’d be back home.

            Shannon went over to the sliding glass door and opened it, looking for a screen that was non-existent. She gave him a quirky look.

            “Football accident. Screen is downstairs in the carport, a little bent.”

            She walked to his efficiency kitchen. T.J. tried to place his body between her vision and the sink full of dishes.

“Shannon, stop checking me out.”

She glanced down at his package. “I wasn’t checking you out, but, come to think of it, that might not be a very bad idea.” She slid over to him and placed her palm warmly against him and gave him a smile. “Nice, T.J. I can see all this turns you on too. Like playing house?”

“Seriously, Shannon, let’s just get this stuff out of here and get out. You don’t have to look over everything, do you?”

She stepped as close as she could to him, her belly being the obvious impediment. As she squeezed and pressed her palm against the hardened ridge of his shaft. “What are you worried about, T.J. We’re all friends here, very good friends.”

He was having a hard time liking it, but his groin was loving the massage her strong little hand was giving him. Damn, he was filled with such confusing thoughts and feelings. A real mixture of dread and lust. Like a pebble skirting on the edge, he allowed himself to be lead around by the nose of her psyche while she had her way with him. He was powerless to stop it.

“Show me your bedroom. Now.” She demanded.

My Review

All the books in this anthology, even if they are the first part of novella series or a complete story are great. I love when i can read a book and it be filled with all my favorite military romance authors plus some other authors who I have never read.  

The anthology as a whole has a little bit for everyone there are suspense, wounded warriors, erotic, series stories and yes heartbreaking stories also. Of course a couple of my favorites J.M Madden and Sharon Hamilton are in this anthology, I never have a bad thing to say about these ladies their books are also an auto buy for me. 

Gennita Low has the first part of her book The Seal... I loved it and was highly disappointed when I couldn't keep reading... I hate waiting for the next part of a story especially when it pulls it in.

I love Cindy Dees... I have never read any of her books before but I loved how she integrated a female SEAL into the antho. Tina and Ford where great together and I am excited to read more books by her. 

Anne Elisabeth and Cat Johnson's stories where both engaging and complete stories with some sizzling sex scenes... Thank you Anne I don't think I will workout in a gym without thinking about practice mats.

Cristin Harber, Sabrina York and Elle James all their stories have some form of action in it... that give the stories a real aspect which I really enjoyed. When chaos and gunfights can bring the hero and heroine together I enjoy the read even more. 

P.T Michelle's story is more of an erotic story and I truly look forward to reading more about Mr. Black. As the past connects with the present I can't wait to see what happens next. For me it was more a teaser for her story which i love and hate... as I wanted to keep reading.

Delilah Devlin has a way of writing feisty heroines who are not afraid of taking what they want. In this case a independent daughter of a Congressman meets harden SEAL who takes his job seriously. There is some seriously hot scenes in this book and not every female needs a male to save her.

Teresa Reasor is an author that will always have me crying at some part... her story is filled with heartbreaking news, tons of love, and show the give and pull that deployed families deal with. 

Overall this is a wonderful anthology and I can read it again and again.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 Genie Lamps.

Marc started to stand, but she stopped him with her hand on his forearm.  He did sit back down, but he crossed his massive arms in front of his chest, leaning back into the couch and looking the opposite direction, away from her.

            “I know none of this makes sense. Not sure I do either. I thought that—well I just thought a little night of anonymous sex with no strings would be something—and this is a totally selfish thing here, I admit it—I thought I could just have…” This was going to be much more difficult than she’d planned. Everything she wanted to say wasn't right. “I just wanted one more night being single, being free to choose, being with someone without it being complicated. And I’m sorry. I realize now that that was a huge mistake.”

            His passive, hulking frame and dispassionate stare into the distance broke her heart.

            “Please Marc, look at me.” He did, but his eyebrows were raised, his eyes contained the look of someone who thought she was full of crap. She mustered her courage and added, looking into his sky blue eyes, those eyes she’d gotten lost in, eyes she would remember forever, “I am truly sorry. I am not a good person at all. I did this without any regard for your feelings.”

            Their eyes did connect, and for a second she could see the hurt there, a little dream in his heart that was dying too, just as hers was. Instinct told her to reach over and kiss him, hug him, tell him how sorry she was for her behavior, but she knew that was the wrong way to handle it. As much as she wanted to touch him and let him know how awful she felt, she needed to keep her distance.

            Just tell him the truth and get out.

            Marc hadn't dropped his eyes. He was searching for something in her face she hoped didn't show up. He was looking for evidence she cared for him. Wouldn't it be wiser to show coldness? Let him understand there was no future between them?

            But was that the truth? Really the truth? Did all this happen because of her niggling doubts about Ricardo and the life she would have with him in Brazil? If she were certain of her decision to marry him, would the night with Marc have happened? She honestly didn't know the answer to that.

            “It was the most beautiful afternoon I've spent in my entire life. I will never forget it. Never, Marc,” she said.        

His crooked smile with the dimple on the right side of his full lips was sexy as hell, and changed the mask of his face.

            “It was a pretty incredible afternoon, but hey, no worries, Sophia. I’m not looking to get hooked up with anyone. I’m getting ready to deploy. This is just a little R and R before we go. It kind of worked, in a sick sense of the word.” He looked at his palms.

            She hadn't expected that.

            “You aren't angry?”

            “For an afternoon of the best sex of my life? Fuck no.”

            It was a nice thing to say, but she felt the blunt force of a verbal slap. “I think it was more than that, is what I’m trying to say,” she said, her voice low and husky.

            Marc shot up, put his hands in his cargo shorts. “I’m glad. While you’re working your way through the cruise ship males, I’ll be having beers with my buds and probably swearing off Italian girls for awhile.” He began to walk out of the bar.

            She had to do something. She ran and stood in front of him, to stop him.

            “Wait a minute. What I want to say is that it wasn't just a hookup. I mean it started that way, but it became more, I guess is what I’m saying.”

            “Well, that’s fine, honey. And if you get that itch again, I’ll scratch it. No worries. I’m not going to get pissed off and ruin another good time.” His brilliant white teeth and blue eyes melted her bones.

            “So it wasn't—“

            “You don’t have the right to that privileged information, honey. You’re engaged to someone else. I don’t gotta tell you anything about me or how I feel about anything, remember? But if you want another anonymous hookup, I’m not going anywhere. We've got like twenty days together. We've already proven we can let our bodies do the talking since the words seem to get in the way.”

            He left the bar. She felt her stomach drop to her ankles.

            It wasn't easy to put it out of her mind, the look on his face as he turned, bowed slightly and walked out of her life. She’d already cried for him once as she was walking away from him in the Piazza. She’d left a part of her with him that day, and now today he took away another piece as he walked down the marble foyer, pushed the up button and left in the elevator.

My Review

This Anthology is full stories of Hot SEALS and by some of my favorite military authors... There are short novella reads and even full length reads... It is a steal for 0.99 cents.  

-Code of Silence by Marliss Melton was the first story in anthology... Vinny and Ophelia have a great story and Ophelia has a tendency to get herself into trouble due to her job. Not to mention she has other reasons for going to her Mother-In Laws for  Thanksgiving. This story has everything you could want in a Military Romance, it pulls at your heart strings, make you call the heroine stupid, has bad guys, Sexy Heroes and even some make up sex. Really liked this one.  

-Holding On by Stephanie Taylor is the second story in the anthology... It was a quick little read, I loved how Chris would do anything to get home in time for the birth of his son. Jamie is hell bent on having a home birth and wants nothing more thank Chris to be there for the birth. Throw in Family, Snowstorm, Stubborn breach baby, crazy travel plans, and just a bit of luck... You get one great read.

-Mutiny's Bounty by Delilah Devlin is the third story in the anthology and introduces us to Lace and Dex... Lace is a travel agent who books adventure vacations... She is out to try swimming with sharks when her fear gets the better of her and literally has her "saved" by Dex. Dex is providing security along with other members of his team...When he see Lace he thinks she is just another rich girl who wants a fling... Couldn't be more wrong... When the Adventure vacation goes crazy and the guides are the bad guys... Can Dex save the day and protect Lace... Falling in love in some cases is more dangerous then swimming with the sharks. I Loved this story as it ties in with Delilah Devlin's other book Dangerous Liaison which was published in the Uniformed Desires Anthology/Box Set. It has great sex scenes,action, alpha males, and a stubborn heroine who knows what she wants.  

-Warrior (Crossfire #5) by Gennita Low is the fourth story in the anthology and I have to say I love me some Cucumber and Cupcake. This was one of the full stories and I absolutely loved it. Gennita Low has a way of writing both action packed and humorous stories. The Pink Room is to die for and so is Kit (Cupcake) and Lucas's (Cucumber) banter. I love how she connects her Crossfire series and the characters from book to book... It have everything interconnecting missions, action, danger, humor, Hot Sex and Complete characters... Great addition to this anthology.  

-SEALS Desire by Elle James is the fifth story in the anthology... It is not only about overcoming loss but also being able to forgive yourself. Remy and Mitchel  shouldn't ever be together as Mitchel was Remy's friend and teammates girl. However both make a pack if they are single on Valentines Day they are going to go out. However,Mitchel is undercover as a stripper and Remy just happens to almost blow her cover... Mitchell is determined to find her friend, even though she could be in a lot of danger, Remy won't let her work alone so him and his team back her up... This is a great read, that has great sex, suspense and a complete story line. 

- Breaking Free by Teresa Reasor is the sixth story in the anthology and one of my favorite. When Zoe's Brother (Brett) is injured during a mission, his Commanding Officer Adam (Hawk) offers both her mom and her a place to stay till Brett gets better. Zoe is knows something happened but Hawk isn't talking and the hardest thing is knowing that someone within the team is responsible for Brett's injury. Hawk and Zoe fight their attraction but soon loose that fight to what feels right. Knowing who to trust is hard and when team secrets come out will the team be broken for it, and will Zoe & Hunter be able to make a go of their relationship. I love that Zoe is not a flawless beauty and the Hawk makes her feel beautiful and worth something. Great Story. 

- SEALS Lost Dream by J.M Madden is the seventh story in the anthology and is connected to her Lost and Found Series. Flynn was a Navy SEAL K9 Handler and deals with PTSD and the loss of his MWD (Military War Dog). He is a magnet for animals that are hurt and takes them to the local Veterinarian Willow. He never says much just makes sure they get taken care of and leaves. When Maya the dog he saves adopts him as her human we see Flynn deal with the loss of his K9 and the inability to function like a "normal" person. I love that Willow accepts him as he is and works to make things easier for him. J.M Madden has a way with writing wounded warriors that touches you heart and has you falling in love the hero along side their heroine. Another awesome read. 

-Seal My Destiny by Sharon Hamilton is the last story in the this anthology. Luke has PTSD and guilt over both the marine and his fiance who died next to him. He finds comfort in the arms of Julie and after their night together he feels closed in and brushes her off. The wedding of his sister takes him right to Julie and the realization that his sister and her brother are getting married. Julie and Luke work it out over coffee and well some hot sex... There are ups in downs in this story which I like and Sharon Hamilton shows that asking for help is not a weakness. I really liked this story and found it a fitting ending to this anthology. 

Overall- This is a great anthology which is filled with stories by great authors and focuses on Alpha men and the women who make them whole.

My Review
I have to say that I absolutely loved this box set. To me personally there is nothing sexier then a Man in Uniform and this anthology contains a lot of Men in Uniforms. I love all these authors and each of the stories were great reads in their own rights. I read the whole anthology which i will confess took me two days as I had to read in my free time.  There is so much going on in this anthology I honestly believe there is something for everyone in it.  
There is action, romance, steamy sex (which everyone loves), a love triangle, wounded warriors/ disabled veterans, hookups that lead to something more, and  heartbreaks to happy ever afters. The stories in this anthology will make you feel so many different emotions and that is the essence of a great read. Even if you just buy it for one of the authors you will happy with your purchase, as it is only 0.99 cents which is a steal for these authors and their writing.
