ARC Review Seducing the Playboy By Amanda Usen

Description

The best desserts are worth the wait…
Pastry chef Jenna Cooper crushed hard on playboy chef Roman Gallagher when her older brother brought him home to share their family Christmas six years ago. Now she’s old enough to do something about it, and she won’t take no for an answer—for anything.

Out of the frying pan into the fire…
Roman has one hard and fast rule—don’t sleep where you eat. But he can’t say no to Jenna’s plea for him to help her save her family business. Soon she's working for him, and their scorching chemistry melts Roman’s resistance.

If you can’t stand the heat…
Jenna knows Roman has reservations about enjoying the heat between them, but she’s got a plan. She’s going to keep this sexy man so satisfied in—and out—of the kitchen, he won’t regret a thing. But Roman has his own ideas. He wants more than a few hot nights, and he's going to teach Jenna a lesson about playing with fire.

My Review

What do you get when you add, beach side restaurant, yummy deserts,  a hot chef and a determined pastry chef? You get a sexy and engaging story that will keep you reading and hoping that Jenna and Roman finally hit the sheets and get a happy ever after.

Jenna is stubborn, impulsive, and won't take no for an answer.

Roman has rules, he learned them from his mother and he never breaks them. Jenna is no longer the little girl and Roman is playing for keeps.

These two have so much push and pull it is sexually frustrating even for the reader... Which I loved.

My heart broke for Jenna and Roman in this story... However I know that Jenna needed to do things by herself and actually grow up. Roman knew that and even when Jenna thought he didn't love her, he was hurting the same as her.

Great story... Loved it.. Would recommend to anyone who loves steamy sex and foodie stories :)

Mary Kay and My Sister

Hey All

So I told you I would be doing a post on beauty products and other goodies. I will still have my Ispy Post for this month when I get my glam bag. But I want to do a post on other products I like to use.

I use a bit of everything and one of my favorite products is Mary Kay's Satin Hands it leaves my hands nice and soft and I love it.. It also comes in Peach.  They also have Pedicure products too which are awesome.
Satin Hands Gift Set

I also am a big fan of the Mary Kay At Play Baked Eye Trio eye shadows. I love the sparkle that they bring to my eyes and the colors are beautiful and vibrant. My current favorite is Sunset Beach.

I know that everyone has their own person they buy Mary Kay from but I want to introduce you to my Mary Kay Lady... My sister Mandy House.

Not only is she my big sister but she is also pretty damn awesome. She is a Proud Air Force Wife and supporter of Veterans. She is the mother of my beautiful niece Katelyn who just turned 12. She currently lives in Missouri.  Her favorite Authors are Nicholas Sparks and VC Andrews.

I try and get her to read other Romance Authors but those are her go to authors. lol

I also like that even though she lives in another state when I buy Mary Kay from her it doesn't cost me anything in shipping as she offers free shipping with every order no matter how much you buy. That's pretty awesome.

You can find her Mary Kay information on her Facebook or her Mary Kay Website Or you can even call her as she has an pretty neat office setup at (660) 362-0287.

Much Love

Marriage to him for one year and she will walk away with financial security. But will their marriage last the year?

Or, like his former fiancee’, will she find the need to leave him, too?

My Review

I have to say I enjoyed this book, Caroline and Brandon's marriage is perfect on paper but when feelings become involved will the love they have for each other be enough for will stipulations put in the marriage contract be an end all.

I really liked Caroline she knows what she wants and tries so damn hard to make Brandon happy and get to know the real him. Brandon finds himself falling for Caroline but he tends to be standoffish and even self serving at times. He does have his reasons for being that way.

I felt for Caroline when she made the decision to leave Brandon, I also applauded him when he finally went after her.

The secondary characters are great and added to the story and growth of the characters.

Overall a great quick read which leaves you satisfied.

Book Tour Rescued By The Buccaneer by Normandie Alleman

BLURB:

When Frederica Beauchamp boards a ship for the Americas, she dreams of a life filled with adventure, but she gets more than she bargained for when her passenger ship is attacked by pirates. The heartless men kidnap her and force her to serve their captain—a fate that might be worse than death, since though he does not have his way with her, the captain delights in baring her, shaming her, and thrashing her bare bottom as punishment for every imagined disobedience.

After the pirates bring aboard an injured man found floating in the sea, Frederica tends to his wounds and learns that he is Gaston Galette, a survivor of a shipwrecked vessel. Gaston seeks her help to overthrow the vile captain, but when their plan goes awry he is forced to use all of his wiles to save them. As the naïve girl and the seasoned sailor navigate one perilous situation after another, he informs Frederica that the only way they can survive is if he is in command, and that if she thinks things can be otherwise, she will be taken over his knee for a bare bottom spanking.

As he watches the proud, willful Frederica bow to his authority, however, Gaston worries that her growing hold on his heart will be his downfall. He knows he cannot take a woman with him when he returns to his ship and crew, but when Frederica accepts his lustful dominance completely, submitting to him with grace and beauty no other woman could match, Gaston realizes that he may never be able to let her go.

Publisher’s Note: Rescued by the Buccaneer is the first book of the Pirates of the Jolie Rouge trilogy. It is an adventure and erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes including elements of BDSM and humiliation, and more.

Excerpt:

“Gaston Galette at your service,” he said, dragging himself to his feet.

“What’s this I hear? We’ll be a-findin’ what the sea lost.” The booming voice preceded a broad, hard-looking man with a grizzled yellow beard.

Gaston assumed by the look of the man and his commanding tone that he must be the captain, and so he extended his hand, which the captain ignored. “Aye, Captain. Lost me ship. Appreciate you saving me from the depths.”

The captain eyed him suspiciously. “What happened to your ship?”

“We had a run-in with some rabble-rousers, and their cannon took out our rudder. Nasty business. Barely escaped with me life. I fear the rest of the crew didn’t fare so well.”

“You the captain?” the man grimaced.

“Quartermaster,” Gaston lied. “Plenty of experience at sea, sir. Perhaps I can make myself useful for you.” He looked around. “Not that it looks like you need any help. Fine vessel, she is.” Flattery would only improve the chances he’d see another day.

“Hmph. You’ll be earning your keep, fer sure, mate. Hand over your weapons.”

Gaston removed his scabbard and politely relinquished his sword and pistol. He had no intention of giving up the knife hidden in his boot.

“Better see to your wound first.” The captain snapped his thick, hammy fingers. “Freddie! Front and center,” he bellowed over his shoulder.

The mention of the man’s name caused quite a commotion. A buzz filled the air, and men stopped swabbing the deck. It appeared work would cease as the entire crew awaited the arrival of this Freddie person.

“Freddie will see to that,” the captain grumbled, pointing at Gaston’s oozing arm. “Report to me when it’s properly wrapped, and if I were you, I wouldn’t do anything unwise.” The captain brought his face right into Gaston’s, inches separating them. He glared at him and his voice rang of pure evil. “Heed me warning, or I’ll cut out yer gizzard, boy. Keep an eye on ‘im, Tiny.” The captain clapped the big man on the shoulder, turned, and marched below deck.

Gaston was so occupied watching him go that he was startled to hear Bradford say, “Miss Frederica. Cap’n wants you to see to the new man. Pulled him out of the ocean, we did,” he said, his voice ringing with pride. “‘E’s got a nasty gash in ‘is arm.”

Turning in their direction, Gaston found himself staring into a woman’s mesmerizing blue eyes. They were shocking, cold, and almost transparent—like ice. Pale pink ribbons entwined her waist-length chestnut locks, and she wore a frayed pink dress flocked with sun-bleached flowers. Numerous days at sea had freckled her smooth, creamy skin and had given a set to her jaw that spoke of something soft having hardened.

A lump formed in his throat, and he gulped self-consciously. It was unlike him to allow the fairer sex to affect him, but this Freddie was, quite frankly, the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.

Will Jake be the Hero Blondie needs and save her? Or will revealing his actual wealth cause Blondie to doubt everything he ever told her?

Excerpt

Blondie looked up when she heard the knock on the door jam, standing there was one of the sexiest men she ever saw in her life. He stood about 6'2 with his brown hair sporting a fresh high and tight that screamed Marine. He wore a black t-shirt that was tight to his body showing off his muscles and tucked into a pair of faded blue jeans. As sexy as that was it, his eyes were what caught her attention. An amazing shade of Emerald Green with flecks of gold in them. Holy hell, she thought this might turn out to be a good day after all.

"Come in, don't just stand there in the hall," she said with a smile.
"Take a seat and let's get this interview started. First off, my name is Mary-Alice however you may call me Blondie. What's your name Marine?"

Jake, looked at her with a bit of shock on his face, he was used to being the one in charge not the other way around, then he gave her half a smile as he sat down in front of her desk and said, "Well, Ms Blondie, my name is Jake Peterson and I am gonna be your new bartender."

Blondie laughed at that, in response she said, "What makes you qualified to work as a bartender at Tuefel Hundens, you look more like a bouncer to me, and we got two of those."

"Well, besides living within walking distance; I know how to pour drinks, keep customers and the ladies happy" Jake said with a wink. "I also tend to be pretty damn squared away and I will always show up on time."

Description
25 year old Lexi Salenko is an independent and focused young woman who has realized her dream of moving to the open country of Montana and starting up a quaint bookstore. Romance and adventure have always remained within the covers of her cherished novels until one day she receives a mysterious letter from her archaeologist sister. The letter was sent from Israel and was badly damaged, but Lexi understands enough of it that her sister may be in trouble.

Lexi follows the cryptic instructions sent to her and finds herself propelled on an odyssey across three continents with a very sexy former Navy SEAL turned mercenary and a mysterious ancient relic with ties to an ancient cult. She learns about a supernatural force that stretches from the ancient ruins at Gobleki Tepe Turkey through the death camps of the Holocaust and into her present life. Along the way she learns that sometimes you have to let yourself fall in love and believe in the power of hope.

My Review

First I want to state that this book has many different elements it has adventure, magic, history, steamy love scenes and a happy ever after. I really enjoyed this book as it had a lot of ancient history elements which where not only very interesting but also a great part of the story line.

Lexi is reserve and withdrawn however her attraction to Ryan is red hot and they have great chemistry. I love how she opens up and is very much her own person. The Adventure that Lexi and Ryan to save her sister is crazy and at times this book will have you going what just happened. I loved the ancient history and paranormal twist involving witches and long forgotten cults and demons.

Overall it is a good read which I enjoyed, this is the second book I have read by Melanie James and I find her easy to read with enjoyable characters.

I rate this book a 4 out of 5 Genie Lamps
