LOVING MICHAEL by NYT and USA Today bestselling author Kate Pearce. Since returning from the peninsular wars, Michael Waterstone has learned to live within restricted boundaries and taught himself not to yearn for what he can never have. Fortunately for him, ex-courtesan Angelique Delisle is no respecter of boundaries of any kind, and offers him a provocative Christmas wager that might change his life forever...

My Review

I have to say I truly enjoyed this anthology. It does have a little bit of everything lost loves, forbidden love, Highlanders, strong women, life changing decisions, even a wounded warrior. Even though each of these stories are different there is one main connection... Christmas. And who doesn't like a steamy erotic historical romances on a cold winter's night.  Each author brings the heat in their own way which I really like.

I do have to warn that there are M/M/F scenes in a couple of the stories, if that isn't your thing just pass them over. I enjoyed them as they were well written and I do enjoy a good love triangle, love is love period.

Over all this is a wonderful anthology which I would recommend to those who love naughty historicals, steamy sex scenes and people finding Christmas love.

Note from the Author for post--

Hey guys!

Thank you so much for stopping by today to check out my debut novel, Choosing Evil! This baby was a labor of love, for sure. And, its tagline, 'Embrace Your Inner Demon' has already raised some eyebrows around my small beach town (oops!).

Well, if you're into the paranormal like I am, it won't shock you to know the demons in Choosing Evil are not only sexy and bad-ass, but full of emotional baggage and human appeal.

While Choosing Evil is Serafina's story, her love interest, Damon is a giant part of it. If you like what you read, get ready for the sequel, Breaking Evil, which I'm hoping to release in 2015. Both books are part of The Ensouled Trilogy, which not only pits good against evil, but makes each character, and reader, question what evil really means to them.

I hope you have fun today getting introduced to Choosing Evil, and me! Don't forget to find me on social media and, of course, sign up for my giveaways below :)

Thank you again for helping me celebrate Choosing Evil's release!

There’s a tour wide giveaway with three winners…

1) $25 Amazon Gift Card plus ecopy Choosing Evil
2) $10 Amazon Gift Card plus ecopy Choosing Evil
3) ecopy Choosing Evil

There’s a secondary giveaway happening as well for release week if you’d like to include a link to it. The link will be live release day but it will be found at… It’s for a $50 Amazon Gift Card.

Review ARC Beyond Possession by Kit Rocha

Tatiana Stone has worked hard to establish herself as one of Sector Four's most skilled crafters. All she wants is peace--but the sins of her father haunt her. He ruled the sector as a petty tyrant before the O'Kane takeover, and plenty of people harbor bitter memories of his cruelty. Especially now that Tatiana's beloved baby sister has fallen in with a man who wants to start a revolution.

Zan failed his boss once, and it won't happen again. So when Dallas O'Kane asks him to defuse the rebellion brewing in the sector, he'll do whatever it takes to get the job done--including seduce Tatiana. It's the perfect opportunity to get closer to the pretty crafter and complete his mission. But what he discovers is a fiery, passionate woman--and an affair that could destroy them both.

My Review

I really enjoyed this book. It has everything that Kit Rocha is known for and is still has the major players in Sector 4 in the book. I have to say I love that the O'Kane party in this book wasn't the "traditional" O'Kane party. But I loved seeing the softer side of the O'Kane Crew.

Tatiana Stone is the displaced former "princess" of sector 4. Everything she does and has done was to survive. She would do anything to protect her sister even if the what she does ends up hurting her sister.  All she wants to do is work in her shop and be left alone.

Zan is one of Dallas O'Kane's man men. When he is asked to get close to Tatiana to make sure that rebellion does't take over Sector 4, it is a job that he is more then ready for.

Zan and Tatiana have a push and pull chemistry, the want to be together but are more than aware of the possible ramifications their romance would have in the sector especially if sides must be chosen.

I hate spoiling books but I have to say the O'Kane women are kick ass, they show they are not weak minded or just willing to sit on the sidelines and wait. Tatiana is surprised about how much she fits in with the ladies and when push comes to shove they support one another.

Loved how Tatiana takes control of her life in the end is given the happy ending she deserves.

Great Read, I love the it. I do however suggest that you read in order or you might get confused on what is going on.

Guest Post- Author Skye Turner

Hey All,
I have Author Skye Turner doing a Guest Post today.

The Day I Finally “Felt” Like I Was an Author
By: Author Skye Turner

About seventeen months ago, I started on this journey called self-publishing. One day in the summer of 2013, while my husband was offshore and my kids were running around my house like crazy little people, I sat at my laptop and decided to get the ideas that were living in my head… out.

I wrote like a person possessed that day. I think I wrote something like nine thousand words. It was like now that I was finally allowing the voices in my head to talk, they had so much to say.
My first book was written in ten days. I worked literally twenty to twenty-two hours a day. I didn’t sleep, I think I might have showered a time or two, but ten days later… I was done. My first book, Alluring Turmoil, the beginning of Bayou Stix, was written.

That was step one. I used to think that people wrote books and then people read them. I was so green. I literally had no idea what I was getting into, but I decided that if I was going to do it, I was going to do it like everything else in my life and do it big.

I researched cover designers and editors (though I was an editor). I thought I was going to format the book myself, but after countless YouTube videos, tears, and almost throwing my laptop across the room, I asked some friends for someone to rescue me from formatting hell, and got the name of my formatter.

I worked on Alluring Turmoil for months… writing, revising, editing, revising again, allowing betas to read it, talking to my cover designer, working with my editor, then formatting…

I reached out to so many people that I’d followed and admired and I promoted myself and my work. I did all of this for MONTHS before I ever published.

Then, it was time… time to push the button and release my book into the world. Feedback had been pretty good from people who’d received ARC’s. Certain blogs told me I stunk and that I shouldn’t release and they were sorry, but they couldn’t recommend the book. That stung, but I pushed on. I submitted the book to be published… and then I waited. I was a nervous wreck and I had this extreme urge to vomit or curl up into the fetal position in the corner, but I did it…

Alluring Turmoil went “Live” on September 11, 2013 (two days before it was supposed to). I didn’t know anything, but I started checking the sales numbers… holy smoke… people were buying my book. I think I did vomit at one point from the nerves and stress.

By September 12, 2013 I was receiving feedback… people for the most part LIKED my book… I couldn’t help but think this was some sort of cosmic joke. I mean people I’d once looked up to and read everything they produced, were now reading MY work. WHAT?! This was crazy. I’m just a wife and mommy with a dream from Smalltown, Louisiana. I was a tiny blip in the big world of authors.

The messages and reviews started coming in and while most were good, there were some bad, those hurt at first… as time went on, I realized… wow, I need to write another book.

So, I did. And then I write four more. The conclusion to the Bayou Stix series comes out this Friday, November 21. But the truth is… now seventeen months into this, I think I finally feel like an author.

I wake up every day and think to myself… I write books. I entertain people. I involve people in my stories. People travel to events to meet me and express their joy from my work. I receive messages from all over the world and every single day, I pinch myself and grin.

That is surreal. I’ve written six books in seventeen months. I generally produce new material every ninety days… but until recently I’ve never thought of myself as an author…

I do now and trust me… it’s the best feeling.

Meet the Characters from Alluring Surrender & Excerpt by Skye Turner

Meet the Characters.

Cruz Edwards- The talented drummer of Bayou Stix, the most famous rock band in the country. Behind his drum set, he’s a god. Playing is his escape from his tormented past. He’s a deeply tortured man and the scars of his conception and mixed parentage run deep, so deep his friends worry that eventually he’ll sink into the abyss of his own making. He holds everyone at arms-length and doesn’t allow anyone to get too close with the exception of his momma and band mates.

Tifanie Jeffries- Bellaforte is a fiercely strong woman. Her upbringing is the polar opposite of Cruz’s. She’s never wanted for anything and comes from one of the most influential families in Louisiana history. Her privileged upbringing smothered her and she’s worked harder than anyone to prove that she is capable of anything she sets her mind to. She is living proof that character and hard work are more important than a family name and wealth. She’s shunned her life of luxury and supports herself as a brilliant paramedic. She’s used to getting what she wants though not because she feels entitled.

I turn to watch Cruz approach. The fact that heads turn as he passes, both male and female, is not lost on me. My stomach does flips. He sees me at the table and stops for a second. My heart drops, but then he smiles at me and the breath whooshes out of my chest. Thank God I’m sitting down because I’d collapse from the power of that smile. Dear God!
Erik arrives at the table at the same time with a tray of coffees. He passes them out and pulls out a chair. Cruz sees my monster-sized coffee and says, “Do we need a coffee intervention here?”
Taking a sip I let out a moan as it hits the back of my tongue. That is seriously like heaven. The coffee with the sweetness of the caramel and apple and then the creamy whipped cream… It should be illegal.
Cruz smirks slightly at my reaction, though his eyes are wide and I see him watch me swallow. I lick my lips and he follows the trail with his eyes. He asks, “I guess that’s good?”
I nod and hold my cup out. “It’s divine. Try it.”
I’m daring him and I’ve forgotten that anyone else is even in the room. He stares at me and I see his light eyes darken as he covers my hand with his and guides the cup to his mouth. He takes a sip in the same spot as I just drank from.
Suddenly butterflies are dancing in my stomach and I feel like I just went over the drop on a rollercoaster. I gasp as I watch him swallow. He has a tiny bit of whipped cream on the side of his mouth and I just want to lick it off. He pops his lips and wipes the side of his mouth before sucking the tiny bit of whipped cream off. Staring into my eyes, he says, “Yes, that is definitely good. Thanks for letting me sample your treat, Tif.”
My mouth hangs open and the only thing that wakes me from my trance is the light coughing behind me. Shaking my head, I turn and see Dade, Melonie, and Erik all staring at us with wonder on their faces. I have no idea who even just coughed.
Mel is looking from me to Cruz in glee and Dade is trying to hide a smirk. He says, “Well, I’ll be damned…”

Jessie Adams is the womanizing, lead guitarist for the hottest rock band in the country, Bayou Stix. Seduction is his game. He does what he wants, when he wants, and with whom he wants. Women are playthings, but eventually meaningless sex with groupie after groupie gets old.
Blue Delaney has spent years working nonstop and cultivating her way to being the hottest rock reporter in the business and the lead reporter for Rock Hard Magazine. She’s confident, sexy, and has no time for games.
Jessie loves women and women love him, but something about Blue gets under his skin. She’s not what he’s used to.
Blue loves Bayou Stix and is friends with the guys, but something about Jessie pushes her buttons. It doesn’t stop her from wanting him.
When Blue is forced to go on tour with Bayou Stix and cover the band, tensions run high, chemistry is explosive, and Blue and Jessie begin to see each other in a new light.
Their attraction is obvious to everyone but them. But in the end… the question is who’s seducing whom and is chemistry enough to sustain a relationship?
Can this fierce woman tame this bad boy rocker? Does she want to?

Alluring Ties: Book 2.5 Bayou Stix

A Bayou Stix Novella
Alluring Ties is a companion novella to the Bayou Stix series. It’s Book 2.5 Bayou Stix. In Alluring Turmoil, we were introduced to Lexi Sloane’s two best friends, Bradi and Erik. Alluring Ties will take you on a journey into their pasts and bring you to their present.

Bradi St. James is a force to be reckoned with. She’s strong, independent, and has something to prove. All of her life, she’s watched the world around her and is determined to have a different fate from what she’s grown up with. The path you’ve always believed to be the right path, may not be your destiny after all.

Erik Jenson is a kind man. A nurturer and the kind of friend everyone wants to have. Growing up surrounded by friends and family who support him, he’s a confident man. The choices he must make and the chances he must take as he lives and grows make him the strong, loving man he becomes.

Alluring Ties contains explicit sex, including some male/male, strong language and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 or anyone who does not like M/M romance.

Alluring Temptation: Book 3 Bayou Stix

Liam Christianson is the devil-may-care, rhythm guitarist for Bayou Stix, the hottest rock band around. He’s a playboy and likes to do things his way. No regrets. He knows that women love him, and he uses that to his advantage. He’s cocky and shallow. Or so it seems.
Clove Rodrigue is the baby sister of Liam’s bandmate and friend. She’s a sweet, fairly innocent young woman who was dealt a bad hand and became a victim of circumstance. After finishing culinary school, she returns home to Baton Rouge. She finds herself living under the same roof as Liam and they quickly realize they are like oil and water. He hates how perfect she is, and she can’t stand his treatment of women.
Both Liam and Clove are accustomed to letting others see only what they want them to see, each hiding behind false pretenses.
What happens when polar opposites realize that their hatred of one another is really attraction? Will they succumb to the allure? What happens when the things that you fight so hard against are the very things you need the most in the world?

Alluring Infatuation: Book 4 Bayou Stix

Dade Rodrigue is the levelheaded, bass guitarist for Bayou Stix, the hottest rock band in the country. He’s the oldest member which often places him in the role of protector and mentor. Women love a rock star and Dade is no exception. When events in his own life become overwhelming, he takes a much needed retreat for some quiet and down time away from his “Dade the rocker” existence.
Melonie Bird is a well-respected OB/GYN with a successful practice. She’s beautiful, smart, and career focused. She likes things neat and orderly and her life is no exception. When her perfect life derails, she takes off on an island adventure to refresh and recharge.
An exotic location, a chance encounter, and two beautiful people -who aren’t quite who they seem- will have both of their worlds spinning.
What happens when the unexpected changes your life? When the things you never thought you wanted turn out to be exactly what you need, what do you do? What happens when the one you can’t forget isn’t exactly who you thought they were?
Can a spark of lust ignite the fire of love?

Day 5 of Thankfulness

On this Fifth November I am thankful for my Husband Mike. He has been my best friend for the last 17 years. We have been a couple for 15 years, married for 11 years.

Mike & I Summer 2000
He has been my biggest supporter in all things I have done. He humors all my "hobby's" and has been the voice of reason in many instances. I like to say he keeps my crazy in check. Believe me this man deserves a medal for that.

He is sarcastic, funny, smart, wonderful father and a hero in my eyes. He has a way of driving me crazy and yes even pissing me off, but he is also there to pick up the pieces of my soul when it seems like life gets to hard.

Church Wedding December 18, 2004

We have been through so many things in the last 15 years, ups and downs but one thing never changes is our commitment to our family and one another.

I am extremely thankful for my hard working husband who has given so much of himself to provide and support our family. Michael Allen I love you forever and a day.

Much Love

Day 4 Thankfulness

On this fourth day of November I am thankful for humor.

Jokes, Laughs, seriously stupid shit that happens to me. I have to be thankful for humor. For if I didn't laugh I might just cry sometimes. I am accident prone and have the tendancy to hurt myself in weird and stupid ways.

Today I stubbed my toe and ended up cutting the bottom of it 20 minutes before I had to leave the house to go to a Job Interview... Nothing says commitment like wrapping a sliced open toe in a bandage and putting on some high heeled boots.

Laughter is known to heal the soul. Even when I have bad days my sons and my husband find a way to make me laugh and turn the frown upside down.

That is why I am thankful for humor be it slapstick, jokes, crazy accidents and even Yo Mama Jokes.

I am going to share my four year old's favorite Knock Knock joke, because everyone needs a laugh now and then.

Knock Knock
Whose There?
Yo who?
Yo Momma... Ooohhh (This is the funny part because he covers his mouth and says Ooohhh laughing).

Day 3 of Thankfulness

On this 3rd day of November I am thankful for Doctors. Yes that is right Doctors.

Why am I thankful for Doctors? Well I have two crazy boys, who tend to do crazy things. They are 11 and 4. I have had dealt with sliced open feet, Fractured legs, head injuries, and many other things.

Yesterday I spent two and half hours at ER on a Sunday because they decided to be crazy monkeys and well the youngest monkey fell off the bed and busted his head.
Seriously there was blood everywhere and his curls were matted with blood. He came to hubby and I that Davey hurt his head, and when he turned his head there was all the blood. Thankfully we live only 5 minutes or so from the Hospital. Hubby is the calm one when things happen were as I am the one bopping around trying to grab everything and go.

He ended up getting two staples cut was about an inch/ inch half long... He is in good spirits and the Nurse who's name was Davy (talk about ironic as Davey was the one who hurt him) was very friendly and couldn't believe that even though he cut open his head and need staples he was happy and still bouncing around. I told him this is a normal day and JonJon never slows down.

I tell ya these boys give me white hairs.

So I am thankful for not only their wonderful Doctor who deals with all this craziness but also to the random ER doctors who have to deal with my crazy ass and my accident prone boys.

I mentioned the boys but if you ask my husband the ER Doctors have seen more of me then the boys because I am accident prone also.

So thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses, and EMT's out there who deal with things like this on a daily basis.

Much Love

Day 2 of Thankfulness

On this Second Day of November I am thankful for my first born and Oldest Son Davey. From when he was born until he was 5 years old it was pretty much just me and him. My husband was deployed a lot so I got to be both Mom and Dad for the first few years of his life. Even though my husband was gone, Davey was a carbon copy of him in the way he acted, looked and even in the type of things he enjoyed.

He has such a curious nature and is so super smart. He loves science, legos, starwars and reading. I love the fact that he is up for pretty much anything. Him and his dad come up with some pretty crazy ideas... Once we went to marbles and they were building a lego fort... Well without even noticing it Davey got walled by his Dad. This is a picture of his face when he realized he couldn't get out.

I do have to say that one of my favorite pictures of Davey with my husband is this newspaper picture. I caught them reading the newspaper and I think it is worth 1000 words.

My favorite thing about Davey is that he is such a great older brother. Even though there is 6 years between him and JonJon. He plays with him, shows him how to do things and protects him. All the things that an older brother should do. Yes he does pick on him but that is par for the course. Here is two of my favorite pictures of the boys together.

At Carolina Beach

4th of July Parade

As A mother I am thankful for a lot of things but the day I gave birth to this amazing child was the day I changed forever.  He has taught me so many things in his 11 years so far.

#1 That legos are an essential part of life.
#2 Science is more interesting than I ever knew (Or wanted to know)
#3 Darth Vader yes is a bad guy but he turns good at the end (3 years old he figured his out).
#4 He makes me want to be a better person.

David Michael is an old soul who is wise beyond his years. I am thankful that God blessed me with him even though he is a carbon copy of his dad and the love to gang up on me.

Much Love

Giving Thanks in November Day 1

So I figured I would do a month of Thankfulness for November.  On this 1st Day of November I am thankful for My youngest Son JonJon.
My husband I lost 4 babies between him and my oldest, there is a 6 year age difference. We were told that having anymore children was not advised.

I remember the day I found out I was pregnant with him.  We were over at My cousin's house for Easter and I was drinking a beer, talking to her about how I just wasn't feeling right and my boob really hurt. She goes do you think you could be pregnant. I laughed and said no, that's crazy After the last miscarriage my doctor said no babies. She said "No like you can't have them or No you can't get pregnant."

I was thought about it and on the way home we stopped at a CVS and I bought a three pack of Pregnancy tests. Each one was positive and I was pregnant, Hubby and I were so happy but scared at the same time because after going to the doctors we were told I was high risk and had to limit pretty much everything I did especially after I started bleeding at 17 weeks. I was put on bed rest a couple times during my pregnancy and had my labor stopped multiple times.

God blessed our family with Jonathan Lloyd on December 14, 2009. He was born in less that 45 minutes at 6lbs4oz 20 inches long and has been a constant source of joy in our lives.

He is a high functioning autistic who is just so damn smart and does some pretty crazy things which makes us laugh. Even when he is having a bad day and has meltdowns he is worth all the pain and trouble I had while pregnant with him.

He was truly a gift from God which is why we named him Jonathan. And why I am thankful for my moppy curly haired blue eyed angel who gives so much joy to those he comes in contact with.

What are you thankful for???
