Review King of Darkness(book 1) by Elisabeth Staab

Scorned by the vampire community for her lack of power, Isabel Anthony lives a carefree existence masquerading as human—although drifting through the debauched human nightlife, she prefers the patrons' blood to other indulgences. But when she meets the sexy, arrogant king of the vampires, this party-girl's life turns dark and dangerous.
Dead-set on finding the prophesied mate who will unlock his fiery powers, Thad Morgan must find his queen before their race is destroyed. Their enemies are gaining ground, and Thad needs his powers to unite his subjects. But when his search leads him to the defiant Isabel, he wonders if fate had gotten it seriously wrong...

My Review

So there is a lot going on it this book, all of it good, there are multiple plots which have you wondering and wanting to know what is going to happen next. I like that the secondary characters Lee, Alexia, Tyra, Anton, Siddoh are intertwined with Thad and Isabel's story. Leaves room for more books. This book however is Thad and Isabel's story.

Thad Is the King of Vampires and need to find his mate to unlock his powers...He is having a hard time adjusting to life in Power and Fighting Wizards isn't making it any easier. He finds his Mate (Isabel) in a rave drinking from a human female. Isabel has grown up away from the vampire community as her parents were outcasts (she doesn't know much about her kind and prefers it that way). She needs to grow a lot in order to become the mate that Thad needs.

There is a lot of twist and turns which keep the book interesting and flowing nicely. The Vampires all have different powers which i find interesting especially because in order for Thad to unlock his and Isabel to unlock hers they need to become mates and figure out how to cope with their new powers which complement each other. This is a Snarky, Sexy, and Action Packed book which is a great start to a new series.

I rate this book a 4 our of 5

*I recommend this Series be read in order
