Devastated by an auto accident that took the lives of her

a crouch, Jack shoved the jet ski across the sand and into the water, hitting
the start button. The engine stuttered. “Start, dammit!” He hit the button
again and the engine roared to life. Gunning the throttle, he rocketed out into
the bay, laying low over the machine.
“What’s
going on, Fish?” Swede demanded.
“We’re
under attack. I’d say we found our guerillas.”

In
2012, my husband, daughter and I traveled to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin
Islands. While there, my daughter, ever the flirt, became friends with a
deckhand on the charter boat we toured the British Virgin Islands on. She's
kept in touch with him since then and followed him through Facebook on his many
adventures. One of his adventures was to be a deckhand on a floating doctor
boat. I loved the idea of a boat of medical personnel traveling along the coast
of Central America providing medical services free to those who didn't have
access or funds to seek it. I knew I wanted to write another SEAL story to add
to my TAKE NO PRISONERS series and this gave me the best jumping off point.
Leftist guerillas are a problem in Central America. Kidnappings are a real
threat. Add in the SEALs and you have a great combination for a story.
