ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Krystal Shannan goes to sleep every night dreaming of mythical realms with werewolves, vampires, fae, and dragons. Occasional a fabulous, completely human story slips into the mix, but powers and abilities usually crop up without fail, twisting reality into whatever her mind can conceive.

As a child, her parents encouraged her interests in Ancient Greek and Roman mythology and all things historical and magickal. As an adult, the interests only grew. She is a child of Neverland and refuses to ever stop believing in fairies. She is guilty of indulging in and being a Buffy the Vampire Slayer groupie as well as an Angel fan. For those of you unfamiliar with the world of Joss Whedon, you are missing out!

She also makes sure to watch as many action and adventure movies as possible. The more exciting the better. Yippee-Ki-Yay... If you don't know the end of that phrase, then you probably don't like the same movies.

She enjoys reading romance in all genres, but especially paranormal. Her favorite book is ACHERON by Sherrilyn Kenyon. But really, if it has a 'Happily Ever After', she's on board!

Krystal writes stories full of action, snark, magick, and heart-felt emotion. If you are looking for leisurely-paced sweet romance, her books are probably not for you. However, for those looking for a magickal ride, filled with adventure, passion, and just a hint of humor. Welcome home.

Review of A Valentines Surprise by Melanie James

Description
Adam is a local police officer who has never been interested in finding romance or love. He spent the last ten years raising his kid sister after their parents were killed by a drunk driver. When his quiet morning patrol takes a deadly turn, Adam starts to think about life and love a little differently. He sets his sights on the beautiful yet guarded Amanda.

Can his fire burn deep enough to unlock her innocent heart?

My Review

I really enjoyed this Valentines Day Story... It starts out with our Hero and Heroine being pretty much Anti-Valentine especially Amanda. I love the humor that is put in with her view of the holiday. I think that the story line and charcters are great. I love that Adam calls Amanda, Angel. I also like that this was more of a sweet romance, the relationship was more of a front runner.

The secondary characters of Jenny (Adam's younger sister) and his partner Jake are a nice addition and keep the book flowing. It is a fast read but I don't think anything felt lacking. I really enjoyed it and look forward to Jenny and Jake's story in "A summer Love" .

Life is never perfect…or easy.

Ethan is head-over-heels in love with Lizzy, and warring schedules make time together precious. Determined to be together without interruptions, they plan a weekend getaway at his lake house –unaware the past Ethan is trying to ignore is coming hell-bent on destroying what Ethan holds most dear.

Will Lizzy’s secret tear them apart, or will something far worse threaten their very lives?

My Review

I absolutely loved this book... Lizzy is the fourth and last novella in the MacLaughlin Series. This book personally touched my heart and Dammit Krystal Shannan made me cry as I can relate to Lizzy.

Lizzy one strong lady and is the only girl of the MacLaughlin Clan which means she is much loved and have those who want to protect her. She has a heart breaking secret and Ethan is the perfect hero for her, in every way. He easily accepts her secret but knows that their could be something else going on with her.

There is so much that happens in this book I have a hard time not spoiling it. Lizzy will invoke every feeling you have, desire, anger, fear, sadness, happiness and love.

ARC Review Cupid's Heart by Nicole Garcia

Excerpt

Cupid sat on a cloud looking down on Valentina Hart. He had been watching her for a few years now. He was in love from the first time he laid eyes on her sitting on a park bench. Her long red hair sweeping across her face as the warm summer breeze blew. He knew then she was meant for him. The only problem was that, he was a God and she was a human. The two of them could never be together.
This wasn’t a law amongst the Gods, it was Cupid’s choice and the number one rule in his book. It was a rule that could never be broken. Humans were frail, mortal, and being in love with one caused too many problematic situations. Sure he could just shoot her with a golden arrow and she would love him. But after his last disastrous mistake for which he never forgave himself, he thought he deserved to be alone for the rest of eternity.

What happens when the God of Love has lost the will to create romance? Can Valentina give Cupid what he needs to mend his broken heart?

Warning: Explicit and graphic sex. For adults only 18+

My Review

Cupid's heart is a great quick read. There are solid characters and sub-characters... Valentina and Cupid are destined for each other, even though Cupid has been blaming himself over an event he had no control over for 25 years. He needs to know he is lovable and deserves a HEA.
Throw in Cupid's well meaning but trouble making friends Somnus and Hercules and you get God problems which tend to give the book more of a story.

Valentina and Cupid have some steamy scenes which are hot and they have their doubts about love and each other. Over all I enjoyed this book and look forward to more books from Nicole Garcia.

ARC Review Harvey by Krystal Shannan

Description
It’s just a game…right?

Olivia Hampton never thought she’d run into the guy of her dreams at a Gaming Convention, but when Harvey MacLaughlin introduces himself a woman can’t help but notice. He’s six and a half feet of tall-dark-and-yummy. Plus, he's a gamer too. But, how do you tell the man of your dreams you decimate him at Soldier’s Call, the most popular FPS game of the year, almost every night?

Harvey MacLaughlin was interested in Olivia the second she stepped on the plane. When he sees her again in the convention hotel, introducing himself becomes priority number one. He may have started out just looking for company, but what he finds in the beautiful Olivia Hampton may be more than he ever dreamed.

Will a secret between them ruin their budding relationship? Or will Harvey take another path and turn the game on her?

My Review

Love at a Gaming Convention... What a great setting for a romance novella. I really enjoyed this quick read... Olivia is an easily likable heroine who is not only smart but also pretty darn good at gaming, and hoping to get a job promotion.  Harvey meshes well with Olivia, is supportive and hot too boot...they are a gaming couple made in heaven.  The story is full and isn't lacking even though it is a quick read.

This is the third book in the MacLaughlin series and I have to say that Krystal Shannan did it again with her easy writing style and complete plot-line which makes for an enjoyable read.

ARC Review of Caiden by Krystal Shannan

Description

She seems like a breath of fresh air, but secrets and trouble are following this girl like a bad habit. Will he take a chance and listen to his heart? Or will he cut himself off from another chance at love?

Lina Mathews is running scared. She left her home to avoid a man who's determined to make her life a living hell. When she meets Caiden MacLaughlin, everything changes. Will he be her knight in shining armor, or will her troubles drive him away like everyone else? Can she find safety in his arms before it's too late?

My Review

The is the second Novella in the MacLaughlin Family series, and so far my favorite in the series. I have to say I love Lina we are introduced to her when she has a flat on the side of the road. She is no weak woman either, but we find out she has a reason to be cautious. I love her sass and how Caiden finds it attractive also.

Caiden is a protector and I love that about him, I also love his dogs. Him and Lina heat up the pages from the get go... They belong together.
This Novella is keeps you reading and is well rounded...There is a lot that happens to Lina in this book (warning of violence) but it is written very well written and Krystal covers all corners.  My heart broke on how Lina's father treated Caiden, but everything turns out great in the end.

I can't wait to read more of this series and read the rest of the MacLaughlin's stories. Another quick but complete read from Krystal Shannan.

ARC Review Noelle's Wish by Nicole Garcia

Description
Noelle Andrews has had an abusive past and another bittersweet Christmas is here. Noelle's wish is a simple one. To be loved. To Noelle that wish is as unattainable as the stars in the cold winter sky. Roman Parker is young, sexy, and an entrepreneur. The CEO of Parker Industries is a man who thought he had everything he wanted. That was until he met Noelle. Can Roman make Noelle's dreams come true? Or will her past prevent her from having the only thing she has ever wished for?

My Review
This is a Christmas story that shows that anyone can overcome their deepest heartaches and even tragic pasts. Noelle is a withdrawn girl who had an abusive childhood which left her scared both emotionally and physically. She meets Roman by chance at the company Christmas party and the chemistry is instant. A little blackmail involving a book, job and a date gives these two the nudge they need to start on the path to happy ever-after.  I have to say I enjoyed this Christmas read and can't wait to read more from Nicole Garcia.

ARC Review Trevor by Krystal Shannan

Description
Trevor MacLaughlin has been in love with his sister's best friend for years. But, he lets her move away to college without ever telling her how he felt and hasn't seen her since.

Now, years later, a second chance with the woman of his dreams practically falls into his lap.

Will he take a leap of  faith and tell her how he feels? How he's always felt? Or will the woman he knows is meant to be his slip through his fingers a second time?

My Review
I have to say that I truly enjoyed this book... it is a fast read but felt complete there wasn't any real gaps. Trevor and Lorelei are truly meant to be together.

I like how strong and feisty Lorelei was even though she did have her doubts but she took a stand and told Trevor what she wanted and how she felt. Love that. Also Popcorn Balls is my new favorite saying.

Even though they seem to take things fast they have known each other for many years both hiding their true feelings. I love how they were thrown together and the ending was just perfect. What a wonderful short story which has the perfect Christmas Feel showing the acceptance of Family, Love and Happy Ever After.
